Behind brands, companies or mega corporations always reside stories that shape the vision, mission, and values they convey. In this section, I would like to tell you why I decided to be a translator out of all the possibilities. Let's talk for a moment on a more personal level.
Everything started at a small town in the northwest of Spain called Ponferrada, "iron bridge" in Latin. There, I was the girl sitting in her bedroom every afternoon to devour countless books. A myriad of stories passed before my eyes, avid of knowledge and full of curiosity. Words have been my allies since I can remember and have always fascinated me. Their power seems infinite and their ability to adapt, immense.
Words make us laugh or be sad, they cheer up, discourage, hurt, accept, reject, elevate, and make us descend into the deepest abyss. They exist since we started communicating and it is possible they will endure even after the last human being has been long gone. They make up our history, shape the way we look at life and sculpt our societies. Regardless of culture, age, race, origin, education, beliefs, or values, they allow for understanding differences and celebrating similarities. Words are everything. But to use them wisely first we must study them.
After finishing my Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpreting by the University of Salamanca (Spain), I started to work as a freelance translator in 2016. This allowed me to use the knowledge I had acquired during my studies in a professional activity from the beginning. Down the road I stumbled upon the marketing world, where I have remained since 2018: first, as a full-time in-house employee for 5 years, and then as a freelancer since 2024. Combining both disciplines allows me to offer services such as content translation, adaptation to target culture through transcreation or localization, writing of SEO-optimized texts and creation of persuasive copies.
Maybe you are wondering why you should trust my experience for the content of your website, documents, blog posts or product pages. Although I encourage you to check my full CV and the reference section, these 4 reasons may help you make a decision:
Even so, I possess a liability insurance adapted to my professional activities. Please do not hesitate to ask about its terms and conditions
before hiring any services. Kindly remember that we can sign a non-disclosure agreement to protect any shared data during our collaboration too.
For additional peace of mind, we will have in place a proposal including the project's scope, milestones to be achieved, content to be worked upon,
deadlines and payment methods, among other aspects.
